Environmental searches form part of a standard programme of investigation, supporting the Phase 1 Desk Study.
These searches typically involve a review of statutory databases which record pollution incidents, environmental permits, waste management facilities, historic landfills, as well as ecological designations and hydrogeological setting in the vicinity of a Site.
These searches do not on their own constitute a formal assessment of risk, however they are invaluable in providing the detailed information required to make such an assessment.
We can also provide environmental searches independently as part of a due diligence, or pre-acquisition assessment of a site. This can be illustrative particularly where a site has been subject to large scale historic development.
